Online Counseling

Too often, self-care is placed on the back burner.

It can be difficult to get the seemingly endless to-dos done in our fast-paced world – attend all the meetings, get the car fixed, pick up food, and call your friend back. It’s reasonable to be feeling a bit frazzled, maintaining a busy schedule with work, family, and your community while also making time for you.

You may be tired from trying to keep everything as is, status quo. When the candle burns at both ends, it can feel like too much energy is needed to make a change. This might be why you’ve been procrastinating on committing to a new project – even if it’s something you’d generally be excited about.

Maybe you’ve been managing okay, but life throws you a curveball.

Out of nowhere, your to-do list gets turned upside down.

Say someone you love is sick with a life-threatening condition. Focusing more on others than yourself – you take one day off your daily routine, which turns into two. Before you know it, a week has passed, and you’re feeling sick yourself.

You have let deadlines slide, and people are asking if you’re okay.

Think of this adversity as an opportunity…

Maybe these events are calling to you to get the support you need. Perhaps you’re thinking right now, “Hey, that makes sense!”

Hold on to that!

Don’t let the resistance of negative thinking about how you COULD do other things and how you don’t WANT to drive across town sap your motivation.

Don’t let the potential discomfort of working through your thoughts, daily annoyances, and genuine pains discourage you.

Don’t let your fear of change keep you from living with fulfillment – yes, change is a lot of work, but it’s better than staying where you are.

This is the convenient option you’ve been waiting for…

And it’s a better option than the alternatives. You know, like that second glass of wine after the kids are in bed or that late-night lifeline phone call to your friend who’s already asleep!

Online counseling works with your schedule. So, go ahead… turn the teakettle on and get ready for your first session. You can wear your pajamas or whatever is most comfortable for you.

You can also fit this into your schedule. Just imagine hopping out of your meeting and into your therapy session in a matter of seconds.

Get therapy in your home, office, or anywhere that you have a stable Internet connection.

It’s fast and easy. Here’s all you need…

  1. A laptop or smartphone with video capability – consider your screen size and something to stabilize your camera if using your phone.
  2. A strong Wi-Fi connection with speeds that support video streaming.
  3. A private space, free from distractions – including noise and other people.

We will use a HIPPA-compliant video platform, which ensures confidentiality – imperative for the security of your sensitive information. We will discuss these details more during your phone consultation, and you will have an opportunity to ask questions, so you will be prepared with all you need to begin our first session.

Online therapy can be as effective as in-person counseling.

It’s going to be just like talk therapy in an office, with a scheduled time to work with whatever you would bring to a traditional in-person counseling session. Just arrive (log in) a few minutes early from your device, and you’ll be in a virtual “waiting room” until your session time begins.

Yes, we won’t be able to shake hands, and I won’t be able to pass you a tissue – but with the help of technology, we’ll establish an emotional connection that doesn’t require a physical one. I’ll still see all your facial expressions and body language, depending on how close you’re sitting to your camera.

We won’t have to cancel therapy because of inclement weather in the winter months, and you won’t have to cancel when you’re traveling – unless you want to.

You can be confident in the effectiveness of online therapy – and relieved in the ease of accessibility because the benefit of therapy remains. If you have any concerns, let me know, and I will help you establish comfort.

It’s time to take YOU off the back burner!

Choosing the work of transformation is a leap of faith, and it takes bravery to embrace the process of healing and growing.

You can do this!

During our consultation, I’ll walk you through a few simple steps for a successful session. As soon as your first session is scheduled, allow yourself a big sigh of relief. Enjoy the satisfaction of having taken this important step in your healing, like a hot cup of tea on a cold day. You will thank yourself later!
